Ellen Lucille Berndt, age 76, of Ripon, died Tuesday, December 28, 1999, at her home.
She was born February 10, 1923, in Pound, WI, a daughter to Rev. William A. and Minna (Fisher) Zeckser. She attended Gillette High School and Oshkosh Business College. She married Earl H. Berndt on December 25, 1945. Ellen worked at Admanco, Inc. as a secretary in the plant office and sample room for 32 years. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, VFW Post #5278 Auxiliary and Admanco 25 Year Club.
Survivors include her husband, Earl H. Berndt; children, Nancy Williams of Dale City, VA, Wendy (Tom) Resop of Ripon, Benita (Ron) Keplin of Ripon, and Randy (Karl) Berndt of Ripon; 7 grandchildren, Lori Beth (Chris) Sud berry of Dale City, VA, Troy (Theresa) Resop of Ripon, Amanda (Nathan) Disterhaft of Ripon, Laura & Danielle Keplin of Ripon, and Christy & Jeremy Berndt of Ripon; and 6 great-grandchildren, Timothy, Ricky & Jakob Sudberry, Tyler & Taylor Resop and Alexus Berndt. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, LuAnn and 1 son, Gerald.
Funeral service will be Friday, December 31, 1999, at 10 AM at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ. The Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate and interment will be in Dartford Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 7 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with a VFW Auxiliary Service at 7 PM. Visitation will also be on Friday from 9-10 AM at the church. A memorial has been established.
