Ellen Malson Gallert, age 73, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Evergreen Manor in Oshkosh, WI, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ellen was born in Ripon on October 21, 1944, the daughter of Fabian and Leone (Hoppa) Malson. She graduated from Ripon High School. On November 3, 1962, in Ripon, WI, she married David Gallert, her husband of 55 years. Mother of three children, she worked various jobs including Ripon Good Cookie Factory, Splish Splash Laundry and US Bank. She enjoyed countryside Harley Davidson motorcycle rides with family which frequently ended at Shepards Drive-In for ice cream. A game of Rummicube or cards with family was a favorite pastime. In later years, she cherished watching her grandchildren's school and sporting events. She is a longtime member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Ripon.
Ellen is survived by her Husband, David; her children Greg Gallert of Ripon, Geoff (Missy) Gallert of Racine, and Gina (Shane) Heling of Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Baylee Gallert, Brooke Gallert, Brendan Gallert, Kayla Gallert, Gabby Heling, and Ryland Heling. She is further survived by her sister Carol Seibold; sister-in-law Linda (Al) Judas; and many nieces; a nephew; and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fabian and Leone Malson; brothers-in-law, Stanley Seibold and Robert Gallert, Sr.; and her beloved Weiner Dog, Eli.
A visitation for Ellen will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, January 12, 2018, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 Blossom St., Ripon, WI, 54971.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ellen will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 12, 2018 at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, with Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Her family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Gremminger, the staff at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, Ascension Hospice, and Dr. Klinkhammer for their wonderful care for Ellen over the years. A memorial is being established.
