Ellenora M. Newman, age 86, of Green Lake, WI, died on March 6, 1988 at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Ellenora was born on February 17, 1902 in Green Lake, WI, to John and Clare (Zehren) Broder. She was educated in Green Lake and attended Milwaukee Teacher’s College. Ellenora worked as a primary school teacher in Green Lake and Chicago. She married Charles Lahan who died in 1955 and was remarried to Delbert Newman in 1958. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and the Friday Club.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Irene Haberman of Green Lake; two nieces, Mary Stelton of Shreveport, LA and Jo Ann Brantley of Concho, AZ; five grand-nieces and nephews; five great-grand nieces and nephew; one step-daughter, Jean Ooley of Portland, OR and one step-son, James Newman of Agocuro, CA. Ellenora was preceded in death by her two husbands.
Visitation for Ellenora will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 1988, from 5 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Services for Ellenora will be held on Thursday, March 10, 1988 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Reverend Leo Joyce officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Chicago. A memorial has been established for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
