Ellsworth "Bud" W. Katzur

Ellsworth “Bud” W. Katzur, age 92, of Oshkosh, WI (formerly Pickett), passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh, WI, with his family by his side.

Bud was born in Oshkosh on April 3, 1931, son of William and Mina (Trapp) Katzur. He graduated from Ripon High School. Bud married Dorothy Claus at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett on August 11, 1961. He spent all of his life on his family farm as a dairy and cash crop farmer. Bud also was a well driller, a school bus driver and a milk truck driver. He was a charter member of the Pickett Lion’s and member of the Pickett Horse Club. In his free time, Bud enjoyed hunting fox, deer, and going out West for hunting trips. He had a passion for Case Tractors and loved restoring them. After retirement, Dorothy and Bud spent the winters Rv’ing in Arizona and the summers in Wisconsin. 

Bud is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Katzur; children, Karen (David) Homan of Winneconne, WI, Wayne (Betty) Katzur of Pickett, WI, Julie (James) Zuleger of Oshkosh, WI, Kathie (Brian) Faust of Berlin, WI, and Lisa (Kenny) Nadeau of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Keith (Felma) Homan, Craig (Jessica) Homan, Paula (Hunter) Mulder, Heather Allen, Valerie Turpin, Seth (Jerrika) Katzur, Christopher Schmitz and Courtney Schmitz; 11 great-grandchildren; niece, June (Les) Achterburg; nephews, Jeffery Johnson and Greg (Lynda) Johnson; and special family friends, Jay Page and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mina Katzur; sister, Deloris Johnson; and brother-in-law, Bob Johnson.

Visitation for Bud will be held on Saturday, May 13th, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 508 Co Rd M, Pickett, WI 54964.

A memorial service for Bud will be held on Saturday, May 13th, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett, with Pastor Jud Krohn officiating. A livestream of Bud's service at 12:00 pm can be viewed via the link below. Inurnment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Pickett, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Grace Lutheran Church, 508 Co Rd M, Pickett, WI 54964. Bud's family would like to thank the staff at Eden Meadows and Bethel Homes for their care.
