Elmer Barr

Elmer Barr, 84, died Sunday, February, 1, 1998, at his home in Green Lake.

He was born August 10, 1913, in Chicago, IL, the son of Joseph and Pearl Kozerski Barr. He was educated in Chicago, and on July 4, 1939, he married the former Kathleen Gorman. Until his retirement, Elmer had worked 44 years in quality control at Hammond Organ Co. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake and was a past member of Moose Lodge #378 of River Grove, IL.

He is survived by one daughter, Carol (Conrad) Rompala of Norridge, IL; one granddaughter, Mary Kay (James) Newman of La Grange, IL; one grandson, Jeffrey Rompala of Elmhurst, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Katherine and Patrick Newman. His wife preceded him in death in August if 1990.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 5, 1998, at 12 noon at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake with Father John R. Dowd officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 4, 1998, from 3 until 7 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 7 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and also on Thursday at the church from 11 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
