Elmer Harvey Kapp, age 89, of 135 Spaulding Avenue, Ripon, passed away Thursday evening, October 28, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
He was born March 16, 1915, in Wautoma, the son of Walter and Lena (Harke) Kapp. He attended school in Richford, WI. On November 1, 1941, he married Ruth Zimmerman. Elmer worked 40+ years at Speed Queen (Alliance Laundry Systems) as a machinist. He was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Ripon. Elmer enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife of almost 63 years, Ruth; 1 son, Calvin Kapp of Princeton; 3 daughters, Carol Kapp of Ripon, Kathleen (David) Sprague of Ripon and Suzanne (Donald) Damerow of Markesan; 7 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Lilly Sauer of Markesan and Myrna (Keith) Walker of Ripon. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Edwin and Wilfred Kapp.
Funeral service for Elmer H. Kapp will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at Mount Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Mose officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Bluffton Cemetery, Town of Brooklyn. A memorial has been established.
