Elmer L. Ruffner Jr., age 60, 615 North Lawson Drive, Green Lake, WI. passed away Friday, May 12, 2006 at Berlin Memorial Hospital with his family and friends at his side.
He was born April 27, 1946 in Warrenton, VA, a son to Elmer Sr. and Nellie (Jeffries) Ruffner. Elmer worked as a pattern maker at Berlin Foundry for 22 years. He was Director of the Green Lake First Responders for 15 years, and a member of the Green Lake Fire Department for 7 years. He was also a City of Green Lake Alderman for 16 years. Elmer loved and enjoyed Green Lake. He dedicated most of his time to help improve and conserve Green Lakes hidden beauty.
Survivors include his daughter, Christie (Carl) Henke of Oshkosh; 2 granddaughters, Megan and Natalie, at home; 1 brother, Golden (Brenda) Ruffner of Burke, VA; and many friends and relatives in Virginia and Green Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents.
VISITATION: for Elmer L. Ruffner, Jr. will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
FUNERAL SERVICE: for Elmer L. Ruffner, Jr. will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral home in Ripon, with Pastor James Reiff officiating. Inurnment will be in the Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, VA. A memorial has been established.
