Elmore McDermott, 96, of Ripon, WI, died August 4, 1995, at Fond du Lac County Health Care Center in Fond du Lac, where he has resided the past five years.
He was born December 17, 1898, in Berlin, a son of the late Edward and Mary Verasky McDermott. He was educated in the Berlin area. In 1933, Elmore married Annette Gifford. Mrs. McDermott passed away on November 25, 1983. He has resided in the Ripon area since 1925, and was a tool and die maker at Speed Queen in Ripon. Elmore had a gun smith shop sideline business at his home. Mr. McDermott was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon.
He is survived by one granddaughter, Annabeth (Jerome) Klein of Hartland, WI; two great-grandchildren, Kevin Klein of Hartland and Karen (Jon) Sodemann of Waukesha; nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. He is also survived by a dear friend, Dorothy Boese of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette, one daughter, Natalie Villnow and two sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 10 am on Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend John A. Schmitz officiated. Interment was in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
