Elsie Barnes, age 91, of Princeton, WI, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Elsie was born in Elizabethtown, PA, on June 4, 1917, the daughter of Amos and Ida (Billet) Morkel. Her life was a busy one, civil service during WWII in Pennsylvania, moved to Chicago in 1949, where she started at Goldblatts from sales to office supervisor, where she learned Tele-Type and computers. Then Elsie moved to Princeton, WI in 1979, where she started the Share Program and joined the Senior Center.
Survivors include cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and a great aunt. She was also fortunate enough in meeting the Grimes family of Princeton and had the opportunity in sharing their children for the children she never had.
Per her wishes there will be no services.
