Elsie Burt, age 99, of Ripon, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Towerview Villa in Rosendale.
Elsie was born on January 16, 1910, in the Village of Marquette, Green Lake County, a daughter of George and Minnie (Harmel) Cluppert. She married Marland Burt in 1940, and they had one son, and two grandchildren. She received her education in Marquette until she graduated. Elsie than went to work for Admanco for 34 years, where she belonged to the 25 year club. She was a den mother for Boy Scouts, was a member of the married couples club and the Guild of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon for many years where she was a member.
Survivors include her son James (Kathy) Burt of Port Washington, WI; two grandchildren, Michelle Burt of Port Washington, WI and Michael (Rachel) Burt; two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Ava Burt, all of Fredonia, WI; one brother, Irvin Cluppert; nieces and nephews; cousins and friends. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, and four sisters.
Visitation for Elsie Burt will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral service for Elsie Burt will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lake Center Cemetery, Town of Green Lake. Memorials can be given to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
