Emily J. Marchant, age 88, of 437 W. Oshkosh St., Ripon, died Monday evening,
November 11, 2002, at Michalene’s in Ripon.
She was born August 23, 1914, in Oshkosh, a daughter to Charles and Rachel (Davis) Gilbert. She spent her early childhood living on Madeline Island in Lake Superior. Emily was a graduate of UW-Oshkosh and taught in the Rosendale Public School. On October 21, 1940, she married George Wayne Marchant and they farmed in the Town of Eldorado. After his death in 1978, she moved to Ripon in 1979.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Fay) Marchant of Ripon and Lyle (Susan) Marchant of Anchorage, AK; 3 grandsons, Dirk of San Diego, CA, Tyler of New York, NY and Dawson of Boulder, CO..
Funeral service for Emily J. Marchant will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2002, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Rev. Paul L. Holte officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be in the North Eldorado Cemetery, Town of Eldorado. Memorials may be given to the North Eldorado Cemetery in her name.
