Emma Thiel, age 82, of Ripon, WI passed away on Saturday, March 5, 1955 at the home of her son, Noel Thiel.
Emma was born in the Town of Green Lake on July 12, 1872, the daughter of Herman and Louise (Hinz) Badtke. She has lived in the Town of Ripon for 62 years. On November 23, 1892 she married Frederick Thiel in Ripon.
Emma is survived by her daughter, Louis Greaning of Ripon, WI; three sons, Reinhold, Walter, and Noel all of Ripon, WI; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert and Otto Badkte both of Ripon, WI; and one sister, Edith Schwarts of Omro, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Louise Badtke; husband, Frederick Thiel; one sister; and one son.
Visitation for Emma will be held from 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 1955 until 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 9, 1955 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 9, 1955 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Funeral service for Emma will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 9, 1955 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon, with Reverend E.E. Schieler officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
