Erna A. Zamzow, age 94, formerly of Koro Road, Ripon, WI. passed away Friday, April 28, 2006 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home in Wausau, WI.
She was born March 24, 1912 in the Town of Green Lake, a daughter to Carl and Lydia (Weiss) Kenas. Erna was educated in a Rural Ripon School. On November 18, 1933 she married Wilbur Zamzow in Fond du Lac County. Erna was a homemaker and helped her husband work on the farm. She was also a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Robert) Firary, Rothschild, WI; son, Fred (Joan) Zamzow of Watertown, WI; 5 grandsons, Mark Firary, Philadelphia, PA, Ronald (Carrie) Zamzow, Janesville, WI, Michael (Asi) Zamzow, Somerset, WI, James Firary, Denver, CO, and Timothy (Jan) Zamzow, Byron, MN; and 1 granddaughter, Mary Firary, Milwaukee, WI.; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Kenas, Ripon; sister, Elda Wetzel, Bradenton, FL. Preceding her in death were her husband, Wilbur, her parents, and 3 brothers, Robert, Vern, and Elmer, and 2 sisters, Evelyn, and Verona.
A Memorial Service for Erna A. Zamzow will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., in The Chapel of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ of Ripon, with Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Nepeuskun Cemetery in the Town of Nepeuskun. A memorial has been established.
