Erwin E. Jones, age 78, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 1986, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Erwin was born September 17, 1907, in Ripon, WI, the son of August and Julia (Werdin) Jonas. Erwin married Grace Grota on October 6, 1930, in Berlin. He worked as a butcher and meat cutter. Erwin was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Grace; two sons, Jack of Ripon and Lester of East Moline, IL; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one brother, Walter of Waupun and one sister, Verna Sommers of Ripon. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Visitation for Erwin will be held Tuesday, September 2, 1986, from 4 – 9:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:00 pm and a Parish Rosary at 8:00 pm.
Funeral Service for Erwin will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2018, at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon with Reverend John A. Schmitz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial has been established for the church.
