Esther Fischer, 79, of Green Lake, WI, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon where she has lived since February 21, 2001.
She was born December 6, 1921, in Milwaukee, a daughter to Edward E. and Mildred (Fisk) Zarling. After graduating from high school, she attended college and on April 20, 1943, she married Edgar W. Fischer in Cedarburg. They moved to Green Lake where they owned and operated Fischer’s Drive-In from 1963-1976.
Survivors include her children, Rose (Bob) Gregerson or Arlington, TX, Sue (Sam) Hill of Corpus Christi, TX, Tom Fischer (fiancé, Joanne Sullivan) of Excelsior, MN and Ed (Susie) Fischer of Ripon and grandchildren, Anne Marie Gregerson, Kris Gregerson, Dan Fischer, Kim Fischer, Joey Fischer and Kristie Fischer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar W. Fischer; parents, Edward E. and Mildred K. Zarling, brother, Richard Zarling and sister, Ruth St. George.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Private family inurnment will take place at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake at a later date.
