Esther Florence Weiss Zimdars Hoffman, age 93, formerly of Green Lake and Ripon, passed away Monday, July 31, 2006, at Green Lake Manor.
Esther was born on June 5, 1913, in Green Lake, the daughter of Adam and Bertha (Ahrens) Weiss. She was educated at Welch Hill School in Green Lake. On September 30, 1939 she married Alfred Zimdars, he passed away on April 21, 1943. On January 23, 1953 she married Joseph Hoffman, he passed away on June 11, 1993. She worked for Ripon College Food Service and was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughter, Karen Zimdars (Terry) Smith; granddaughter, Carmen (Adrian) Mejia; great-grandchildren, Alejandro (Alex) Mejia, Arianna (Ari) Mejia; sister, Dorothy Liptow, brother, Edgar (Evelyn) Weiss, brother-in-law, Henry Hoffman, sisters-in-law, Lois Zimdars and Roselyn Wetzel and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Alfred Zimdars and Joseph Hoffman, sister, Norma Goeden, sister-in-law, Evangeline Weiss, brothers-in-law, Gordon and Donald Zimdars, Herbert Goeden, Gordon Liptow and Elton Wetzel.
Visitation for Esther Hoffman will be held on Friday, August 4, 2006 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home and again on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church.
Funeral Service for Esther Hoffman will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, with Reverend Paul Nulton officiating. Interment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, City of Ripon. A memorial has been established.
