Esther Rieman

Esther Kroll Rieman, 95, of Michalene’s in Ripon, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2000, at Ripon Medical Center.

Esther was born in Ripon on July 20, 1904, the daughter of Frank and Augusta (Radke) Kroll. She graduated from Ripon High School, and lived all her life in Ripon. On October 10, 1929, Esther married Frederick A. Rieman and they made their home in Ripon. She worked at Ripon Municipal Hospital, Ripon College, and in the office of Doctors Schuler and House. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon and belonged to the Mary Martha Circle of the church as well as the Ripon Garden Club and Ripon Historical Society. Music and travel were a very important part of enjoying life for Esther.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley (Ralph) Martin of Fond du Lac; two nephews, Dr. Harry G. (Jane) Kroll of Kansas and Robert W. (Frances) Rieman of Oregon. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frederick in 1964 and two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2000, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Reverend David Busker officiating. Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.
