Esther M. Smith, 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away Monday, December 26, 1994, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.
She was born November 5, 1902, in Kekoskee Village the daughter of Frank and Emma Berg Schultz. She was educated in the Town of Hubbard in Dodge County and married Edwin Selchert on November 10, 1920. He preceded her in death in 1955. On May 19, 1966, she married Horace Smith who also preceded her in death in 1970. Esther was a homemaker and member of Peace Lutheran Church of Green Lake and the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Green Lake Seniors.
Esther Smith is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Meston of Ripon and Ethel Lieske of Markesan and two sons, Russel (Jane) Selchert of Juneau, WI and Robert (Arletta) Selchert of Pardeville, WI; one daughter-in-law, Margaruete Schiller of Hustisford, WI. Also surviving are six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Along with her two husbands she was also preceded in death by one son Edgar Schiller.
Funeral Service for Esther M. Smith will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 29, 1994 at Peace Lutheran Church of Green Lake with Reverend Rodney E. Dietsche officiating. Interment will be in Juneau, WI.
Friends may call from 9:00 am Thursday until the time of services at the church.
