Ethel Hessler

Ethel Hessler, age 52, of Ripon, WI passed away on Sunday, August 16, 1953 at Ripon Municipal Hospital.

Ethel was born in the village of Green Lake on May 30, 1901, the daughter of Perry and Jane (Dixon) Hess. She was educated in Green Lake County and worked at Ripon Knitting Works. She resided in Green Lake County and Ripon all of her life. On September 7, 1920 she married Everett Hessler in Fox Lake, WI.

Ethel is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Simson of Rush Lake, WI, Lorraine Hasenheyer of Ripon, WI and Elgene Disterhaft of Ripon, WI; two brothers, Everett Hess of Philadelphia, PA and Howard Hess of Elyria, OH; a sister, Blanche Koepke of Elyria, OH; an aunt, Fann Dixon of Ripon, WI; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Jane Hess; husband, Everett Hessler; and one sister.

Visitation for Ethel will be held from 6:00 pm on Monday, August 17, 1953 until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 1953 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Pilgrim Rebekah Lodge #195 of Ripon will have a memorial service in honor of Ethel on Monday at 8:00 pm at the funeral home, with Wanda Tullett officiating, Hildegard Buchholz as leader, Alice Banks as flower girl, and Arlene Swick singing.

Funeral service for Ethel will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 1953 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Reverend Douglas Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Center House Cemetery, Town of Green Lake, WI.
