Mr. Eugene A. Nitzke, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on April 2, 1993, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
He was born on August 26, 1900, in Ripon, the son of William and Ida (Ollerman) Nitzke. On June 7, 1926, he married Martha Sworski. She preceded him in death on February 21, 1973. From 1936 until 1970, he worked at Speed Queen Corporation, Ripon. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon an was a crossing guard for the City of Ripon for 8 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (Reid) Gustin of Ripon; three grandchildren, Thomas (Sue) Gustin, Marsha (Loren) Zuhlke and Sara (Doug) Koopman; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Nicole Gustin, and Jenni Ann and Josh Zuhlke; two sisters, Ella Kuehl of Sheboygan and Elsie Wetzel of Brandon. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Rick Gustin, his wife, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend John A. Schmitz will officiate and interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at the funeral home on Tuesday. A memorial has been established.
