Mr. Eugene J. Schwarz, 64, of Route 1, Green Lake, died Wednesday, November 23, 1988, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison.
Mr. Schwarz is survived by his wife, Lucy; two sons: Thomas and his wife, Mary Kay, of Green Lake, and Steven and his wife, Joyce, of Livonia Center, New York; one daughter, Mrs. Steven (Patricia) Westpfahl of Green Lake and six grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Florian Schwarz of Chilton and two sisters: Mrs. Ivan Novak of Little Chute and Mrs. Cyril Burns of Mount Horeb. He was preceded in death by one brother.
Born November 12, 1924, in New Holstein, he was the son of Andrew and Rose Mergert Schwarz. He was educated in Chilton and has lived in the Green Lake area since 1951. In addition to farming for many years in the Green Lake area. Mr. Schwarz was a rural mail carrier for 18 years.
On April 12, 1947, Mr. Schwarz married Lucy Petrie in Stockbridge. Mr. Schwarz served in the army in World War II and was a member of the Green Lake American Legion Post #306 and 40/8. He has also been a past post commander. He is a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake.
Friends may call from 6 – 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon where an American Legion service will be held at 7:45 p.m. and a Catholic prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the Reverend Leo Joyce of Green Lake officiating. Interment will follow in the Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
