Evangeline Dollie Ruth Vollmer Miller, age 84, formerly of Green Lake, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Barrett House of Ripon.
Dollie was born on August 8th, 1926, in Ripon, the daughter of Fred and Ella (Berger) Vollmer. As a girl, she helped in her parents store, Vollmers Grocery, in downtown Ripon. At age 16, she fell in love with Mace Miller and on April 12, 1947, they were married at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Together they raised their family on the Miller familys SunnyBrook Farm, just north of Fairwater. In 1967, Dollie and Mace purchased Millers Lakeshore Resort on Green Lake. For the next 30 years, they happily entertained guests at the resort. They enjoyed winters in Ruskin, Florida for many years, and Maplecrest the last two years. Dollie will be remembered for her great knowledge of antiques, her musical talents, and her love of people.
A wonderfully loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dollie loved her family more than anything. Her children and grandchildren will always be grateful for all that she did for them. She will be missed very much.
