Evelyn Koplein

Evelyn Anna Koplein, 86, of Ripon, died on Monday, June 13, 1994, at the home of her daughter in Neshkoro.

She was born on September 1, 1907, in Waupaca County, a daughter to William P. and Anna (Pirk) Kissinger. After graduating from Waupaca High School, she attended Oshkosh Normal School, and taught in the primary grades. On January 24, 1929, she was united in marriage to Donald Howard Koplein. They made their home in Ripon until his death on September 30, 1970. Evelyn was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, taught Sunday school, was a member of the Women’s Guild and the Church United Women.

She is survived by three daughters, Charlotte (Wayne) Ocain of Sun Prairie, Barbara (Don) Elleman of Northbrook, IL and Sharon (Tom) Reimer of Neshkoro; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers.

Friends may call from 4 until 8 pm on Wednesday at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, and again on Thursday and from 12 until 1 pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Evelyn Koplein will be held on Thursday at 1 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. The Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate. Interment will follow in the Weyauwega Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.
