Evelyn Luther

Evelyn L. Luther, 88, of 425 Pacific St., Ripon, died Friday, December 26, 2003, at home.

She was born October 13, 1915, in Ripon, the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Peschke) Gruetzmacher. She was educated in Ripon. On October 23, 1943, she married Victor C. Luther. Evelyn worked at the Ripon Knitting Works, and was a housewife. She had lived in Ripon all of her life. Mrs. Luther was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Ripon.

Survivors include one daughter, Julia Luther of Ripon; one son, Victor (Bonnie) Luther, Jr. of Brandon; 1 sister, Lorraine (Ambrose) Wick of Princeton; sisters-in-law, Irene Lenz, Sadie Pischke and Beverly Luther, all of Ripon; several nieces and nephews; and many special neighbors and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Victor in 1988; parents; four sisters, Ruth Gruetzmacher, Marion Paffenroth, Dorothy Albrecht, and Lorretta Bartol; and four brothers, Frank Jr., William, Andrew and Clarence Gruetzmacher.

Funeral service for Evelyn will be held at 1:30 p.m., with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1:30, on Monday, December 29, 2003, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Rev. Paul Mose officiating. Interment will be in Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established in her name.
