Everdine “Dolly” A. Theune, age 93, of Ripon, WI passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Prairie Place in Ripon.
Dolly was born at home in rural Ripon on January 13, 1931, daughter of Herbert and Vida (Wetzel) Liptow. She graduated from Ripon High School. Dolly worked for Van Meter’s as a secretary from 1969 until 1978. She started working for L B Leasing Bus Division, and from 1978 until 1995 she was a manager and also drove the school bus. In 1995 she stepped down from the management position, however, continued to drive bus for kids into her mid-70s, until 2007. Dolly enjoyed bowling, and was involved with both women’s and mixed bowling leagues. She also enjoyed playing cards and watching sports. She had a passion for gardening, and in addition to her own garden, would sneak over to Barlow Park and care for the flower beds there, pulling weeds and giving them a drink of water. Dolly was a lifelong member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. More than anything, Dolly cherished time with her family and loved spending time with the grandkids.
Dolly is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Steve) Pfaffenroth of Oshkosh, WI, Cindy (Dr. K. C.) Brooks of Lodi, WI, and Penny (Brian Pilney) Hammen of West Bend, WI; grandchildren, Paul (Anna) Pfaffenroth, Cassie (Justin) Seidl, Kelsey (Kale) Rortvedt, Katie (Chad) Hammen and Macy (Nathan) Schneider; and great-grandchildren, Clayton and Cade Pfaffenroth and Axle Schneider.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Vida Liptow; two sisters, Geraldine (Bud) Klingbeil and Lois Jawor; and a brother-in-law, Edward Jawor.
Visitation for Dolly will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 am on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Dolly will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, with Rev. Dr. Heather Brewer officiating.
