Mrs. Faye E. Messerschmidt, 77, of 4722 Burr Oak Rd., Oshkosh, WI, died Sunday, December 18, 1988, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
She was born January 5, 1911, in Green Lake Co. to Benjamin and Theresa (Gensch) Grout. On April 9, 1936, she married August Messerschmidt. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1966.
Mrs. Messerschmidt was educated in Fisk. She was a housewife and had lived in the Pickett area most of her life. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pickett and was a member of the ladies aid of the church. She was a member of Aid Association for Lutherans Branch 2500. She was also active in the Pickett Community Center.
Survivors include one brother, Austin Grout of Oshkosh; two sisters, Nina Cowan and Fern Grout both of Oshkosh and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett. The Reverend Alvin Aichele will officiate. Interment will follow in the Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11 am until the hour of services at the church.
A memorial has been established.
