Felicia Marquart

Felicia Louise Marquart, age 94, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Markesan Resident Home.

Felicia was born September 11, 1920, on the family farm in Oakfield, WI, the daughter of Felix A. and Elsie L. (Grams) Scharschmidt Sr. She graduated from Oakfield High School and in 1946, Felicia married Willard M. Marquart on the family farm in Markesan. Felicia was a homemaker and a partner at Ripon Ace Hardware with her daughter, Luann. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.

Survivors include her two daughters, Luann VanLanen of Green Lake, WI and Sarah L. (Scott) Hiers of Delray Beach, FL; three grandsons, Blaine VanLanen of Fox Lake, WI, Alexander VanLanen of Oshkosh, WI and Scott Hiers Jr. of Delray Beach, FL; two sisters, Betty Warnke of Ripon, WI and Fran Kaul of Markesan, WI; three brothers, Richard (Vickie) Scharschmidt of Green Lake, WI, Rudolph (Virginia) Scharschmidt of Charlevoix, MI and John (Judy) Scharschmidt of Markesan, WI and many nieces and nephews. Felicia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willard; daughter, Louise; one sister, Marie Wepner; one brother, Felix Scharschmidt Jr.; sister-in-law, Dolores Scharschmidt; three brothers-in-law, Hazen Kaul, William Wepner and Gordon Warnke and one son-in-law, William J. VanLanen.

Visitation for Felicia will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, November 22, 2014, from 10 – 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 West Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial service for Felicia will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. Pastor Joshua Pegram will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Markesan Cemetery in Markesan. A memorial is being established.
