Florence Norton Amadry, 95, of Parkview Care Center, Ripon, passed away Thursday evening, January 30, 2003.
Florence was born on October 18, 1907 in Green Lake, a daughter to Joseph and Helen (Rounds) Norton. She graduated from Green Lake High School and Gregg Secretarial College. On March 30, 1936 Florence married Rene Paul Amadry, and worked as a secretary for WLS Radio Station in Chicago for 17 years. She moved back to Green Lake to work at Norton's Boat Landing. She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon, and also belonged to the Green Lake Professional Womens Club and the Green Lake Historical Society. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Tri County Animal Shelter and the Caestecker Public Library, both in Green Lake.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeanne (Mark) LaVallee of Ripon; three grandchildren, John (Eileen) Schultz & Matthew (Nadine) Schultz, and Amy LaVallee; two step-grandchildren, Chastity & Jamie LaVallee; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Erickson of Ripon. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, Mary Jo (Bob) Faris, Douglas (Deb) Norton, Joe, Mike & David Norton and families, and Joe, Pat & Betty Erickson and families. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on September 29, 1999; one sister, Dorothy Kwiatkoski; three brothers, John C., Harry D., and Joe Norton, Jr.
A Memorial Mass of Resurrection for Florence N. Amadry will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at 11:00 am at St Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon with the Rev. Kenneth Guy officiating. Inurnment will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. A memorial has been established.
