Florence Julia Benz, age 82, of Ripon, WI, passed away Sunday, October 20, 1991, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
She was born March 22, 1909, in the Town of Metomen, a daughter to William and Margaret (Watson) Koentopp. For many years she was a machine operator at the Advertiser’s Mfg. Co. in Ripon. She retired after 35 years of service. On November 23, 1929, she married Frank F. Makurat. He died December 30, 1959. Since that time, she has made her home in the Fairwater area. On February 20, 1971, she married Oscar Benz. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1991.
Mrs. Benz is survived by one son, Frank Makurat of Fairwater; one daughter, Helen (Carl) Siedschlag of Markesan; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild; one sister, Marion Johnson of McFarland, WI. In addition to her husbands; she was preceded in death by two sisters, and three brothers.
Friends may call from 4 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 1991, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon where a Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 1991, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon. The Reverend John A. Schmitz will officiate and interment will follow in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial has been established in her name.
