Florence Derber

Florence Mae Derber, age 93, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013, at Ripon Medical Center.

Florence was born on May 2, 1920, in Green Lake County, the daughter of Peter and Emma (Siewert) Elvers. On May 28, 1938, Florence married Francis Hoddinott and after he passed away, she married Kenneth Derber. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in their Garden Club and her Monday Night Card Club. She also enjoyed knitting and watching her favorite shows on the Cooking Channel.

Survivors include her son, Gerald (Alana) Hoddinott of Madison, WI; son-in-law, Donald Kesich of Ripon, WI; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hoddinott of Princeton, WI; six grandchildren, Kelley (Randy) Grover of Madison, WI, Kimberly Snyder of Madison, WI, Krieg (Marilee) Hoddinott of Sun Prairie, WI, Kurt (Jennifer) Hoddinott of Eden Prairie, MN, Angela (Jim) Read of Appleton, WI and Sarah Kesich of Ripon, WI; eight great-grandchildren, Allison, Carly, Kevin, Stephen, Brian, Bradley, Abigail and Cameron. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Francis and Kenneth; daughter, Carol Kesich; son, Gary Hoddinott; great-granddaughter, Katie and four brothers.

Visitation for Florence will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Thursday, May 23, 2013, from 10 – 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Florence will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971. Reverend Gerald Schrankler and Reverend Gary Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established in her name.
