Florence E. Harpe, 96, of Ripon, died Saturday, April 5, 1998, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
On December 8, 1901, Florence was born the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Page) Welk, in Princeton, WI. She was a graduate of Ripon High School and Oshkosh Normal Teachers College. She was married to Earl B. Harpe. She was a teacher in the Wisconsin public school system, a profession she truly loved. Florence lived in Milwaukee before retiring to Ripon. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and participated in the Mary Martha Circle.
She is survived by one sister-in-law Olwen E. Welk of Ripon, Nephews Robert W. Welk of Nebraska and Thomas M. Welk of Ripon, Nieces Elizabeth A. Griffith of California and M. Gwen Steffen of Ripon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers Franklin Welk and Erwin Welk.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday April 28, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Reverend Anthony Farina
officiating. Friends may call on Monday April 27, 1998, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00
P.M. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again on Tuesday from
10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in
Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
