Florence J. Meyer, age 92, died Saturday, February 15, 1997, at Lakeview Health Care Center in West Salem, WI.
She was born February 3, 1905, in Princeton, a daughter to the late George and Mildred (Bailey) Durkee. She graduated from Green Lake High School and then attended Stout Institute in Menomonee, WI. She married Otto Meyer on April 17, 1927, and they owned and operated a grocery store in Omro and later managed the Dartford Motel in Green Lake. Florence was a Worthy Matron in Order and had lived in Omro, Green Lake, and the past five years in West Salem.
She is survived by one daughter, Joan (Willis) Mittlesteadt of LaCrosse; four granddaughters, Kathy (Wolf) Reimann of Hamilton Ontario Canada, Karen (Rev. Donald) Pieper of Henderson, NV, Karyl (Pat) Stephenson of Brodhead, WI and Karene (Chris) Forer of Aurora IL; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Harriet Stevenson of Oshkosh; and two nephews, Robert (Jean) Stevenson of Oakridge, TN and James (Constance) Stevenson of Oshkosh, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto in 1977.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 18, 1997, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez will officiate and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Ripon.
