Florence D. Mielka, age 90, formerly of Green Lake and Ripon, died October 1, 1998, under the loving care of her son and his wife at Harshaw, WI.
She was born October 29, 1907, in Green Lake to Oscar and Emma Duescher. She was married to Harold Brooks of Milwaukee and they had 2 sons, Richard and Harold, Jr. After Harolds death, she married Nelson Mielka of Ripon who had 3 children by his fate first wife, Margaret.
Florence graduated from Green Lake High School and Miss Browns
School of Business in Milwaukee. She was secretary to the President of Speed
Queen, Horace Bumby. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist
Church in Ripon and the Mary-Martha Circle, Ripon Study Club, Ripon Womens
Club, Ripon Garden Club, was a Brownie & Club Scout Leader, and was an
active Poll Registration Worker.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Nelson Mielka of Ripon; I son, Harold (Jane) Brooks, Jr. of Harshaw; stepchildren, Jennel Lampe of IL, Joel (Nodine) Mielka of WA and Julie Mielka of Ripon; I great-granddaughter, Lauren Brooks of West Bend; and I great-grandson, Justin Brooks of West Bend; step-grandchildren, Jonathan, Benjamin, Alexander, Ryan, Karin and Elizabeth; and I sister, Mrs. Harmie Schilf of Peoria, IL. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold, I son, Richard, I grandson, Rolland, and I brother, Lawrence Duescher.
Friends may call Saturday, October 3, 1998, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. David Busker officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials to Immanuel United Methodist Church.
