Floyd A. Stellmacher, age 89, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Barrett House, Ripon.
He was born February 25, 1924, in Ripon, the son of George and Jessie (Satler) Stellmacher. Floyd was educated in Ripon, and proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. On June 22, 1946, he was united in marriage to Elaine Splitt. Floyd worked as a truck driver for Speed Queen for 43 years, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Schultz-Klemp-Wentland V.F.W #5278, Brandon-Fairwater American Legion 378, and Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include daughter, Cynthia (Jack) Strack, Naples, FL; daughter, Judith (John) Scharschmidt, Markesan, WI; son, Michael (Jane) Stellmacher, Minnetonka, MN; grandson, Jeffrey (Shawn) Strack, Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Amy (Paul) Kreidler, Glendale, MO; great-grandchildren, Emily and Adam Kreidler, Glendale, MO; brother, Willard (Dorothy) Stellmacher, Ripon, WI; sisters-in-law, Bernadette Splitt, Ripon, WI, Mary (Al) Wheeler, McFarland, WI, Esther Stellmacher, Ripon, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers, Alton, Arland, Norman, Woodrow, Carleton, and Merwin Stellmacher; and four sisters, Alice Lemiesc, Dorothy Hill, Wilma Kohlhardt, and Everdean Zuehls and brother-in-law, Roger Splitt.
Visitation for Floyd Stellmacher will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, January 24, 2014, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac Street, Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for Floyd Stellmacher will be held Friday, January 24, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A Fictum will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon with full military honors. Memorials may be sent to Agnesian Hospice Hope, 745 South Street, Green Lake, WI 54941; Lymphoma Society, Unit A, 4125 N. 124th Street, Brookfield, WI 53005; or Old Glory Honor Flight, Inc., 4650 West Spencer Street, Appleton, WI 54914.
The family extends great thanks to the staff at the Ripon Barrett House, and Agnesian Hospice Hope, and special thanks to Aunt Bernie, Sue, and Ron.
