Richard Phillip Folsom, age 90, of Ripon, died May 13, 1999, at Ripon Medical Center.
He was born June 7, 1908, in Mackford Prairie, Green Lake County, a son to Bert J. and Addie (Burt) Folsom. He was a graduate of Markesan High School. On September 3, 1937 he married Lenora A. Miller and they have made their home in Ripon. Prior to retirement, he was a maintenance engineer at Ripon Foods. He was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ, Ripon. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed taking care of his lawn.
Survivors include his wife, Lenora; 1 daughter, Maureen (Gary)
Bestor and granddaughters, Pamela and Jennifer Bestor, all of North Fond
du Lac; nieces and nephews, Phyllis (Francis) Spencer of Brookfield; James
Densmoor of Milwaukee, Marilyn Ninneman of Ripon, Janet Moshier of NY,
Dale Miller of Milwaukee and Pastor Glenn Miller of CA; sister-in-law, Lillian
Miller of Ripon; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and
2 sisters.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 17, 1999, at 10 AM at Our Saviours United Church of Christ with the Reverend Eric Burnard officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, May 16 from 5 until 8 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, and again on Monday from 9 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
