Frances L. Christison, 96, died May 16, 1997, at Meriter Park Hospital, Madison, WI.
Frances was born on August 17, 1900, the daughter of John Wallace and Louise Frances (Loomis) Christison, in Fulda, Minnesota. She attended Ripon High School and Ripon College. Frances was librarian at the Physics and Mathematics Library at the University of Wisconsin, Madison until her retirement. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Grace Episcopal Church and retired Teachers’ Association. Frances lived at the Meriter Retirement Center for the Past 21 years.
Survivors include her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” (Earl) Rasmussen of Ripon, her
nephew, Donald E. (Diane) Christison of Appleton, Her sister-in-law, Dorothy
Christison, of Menasha, and close family friend, Ralph (Reba) Handwerk of
Amelia, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers,
Donald, Dean and Dale.
A graveside service will be held for Frances on Monday May 19, 1997, at 1:30
P.M. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon with Father Robert J.C. Brown officiating.
A memorial service will be held at Meriter Retirement Center, 110 South Henry Street
Madison at a later date. A memorial has been established.
Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
