Frances Thiel

Frances “Fran” R. Thiel, age 78, of Ripon, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Michalene’s.

Fran was born on August 27, 1929, in Marquette, WI, the daughter of Emil and Mildred (Pahl) Thiel. She graduated from Markesan High School. Fran worked as a bookkeeper for the Kissinger Merchants Meat Processing plant in Milwaukee, WI for many years. She enjoyed traveling and eating at different restaurants. Fran often spent time with the company of a good book.

Survivors include her son, James Raymond of Beaver Dam; brother Clarence Thiel of Markesan; God-daughter Susan Morgan of Mayville, WI; and cousin Sandra (Mel) Kuphal of Fairwater, WI. Special friend Ellen (Roger) Thornton also survives. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Gene Raymond.

Visitation for Fran R. Thiel will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Fran R. Thiel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with the Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Grand View Cemetery, Village of Marquette. A memorial has been established.
