Frances Lillian Horner Thomas, age 92, of Ripon, WI, died Sunday, August 6, 1995, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
She was born November 26, 1902, in Ripon, a daughter of the late Gustavus Brown Horner and Grace Corliss Horner. She was a graduate of Ripon High School and after receiving her degree in English from Ripon College, Frances taught school. On July 31, 1932, Frances married Jack Edwin Thomas and they made their home in Ripon. Mr. Thomas died on July 12, 1988. Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon and of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by one daughter, Anne Bishop of Rice Lake, WI; four granddaughters, Frances Jane Ballou Dempsey of Eau Claire, Grace Feemster and Emily Spiker and their families, all of LA, along with Dr. Anna Singdahlsen also of LA; her great-grandchildren, Frances Anne Ballou Dempsey and John-Scott Horner Dempsey; and one niece, Grace Emily Glass of Ontario, Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
Funeral services for the late Frances Horner Thomas will be 10 am Friday, August 11, 1995, at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert J.C. Brown will officiate and interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Ripon.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 until 6 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
