Frank E. Klites; age 96, of Ripon, died Thursday morning, May 13, 1999, at Parkview Care Center.
Born on March 25, 1903, in Mount Carroll, Illinois, the son of Samuel and Mary Alice (Ackermann) Klites, he attended Mount Carroll schools, and then received pharmacist training in Chicago. On April 3, 1920, he married Mae Thoresen of Beloit. They celebrated their 75th anniversary a year before her death in 1996. He was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church. Frank was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bloomington, Illinois for over 50 years and also a member of the Zor Shrine Temple of Madison, Wisconsin.
After serving as a pharmaceutical sales representative for several years1 Frank worked for Kurt Froedtert in Milwaukee as managing director of Froedterts Physician/Hospital Supply Company. After Froedterts death, Frank was instrumental in seeing to the materialization of Froedterts dream to establish Froedtert Memorial Hospital. Later, Frank and his wife became the owners of the St. Paul Drug and Surgical Supply Company in St. Paul, Minnesota where Frank was a close associate of Dr. Foley, creator of the Foley catheter.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Alice (Robert) Wilkinson, of Ripon; two granddaughters, Judith (William) Neill, and Debra (Tom) Konecny, both of Ripon and three grandsons, Korpady of Waukesha, Thomas (Amy) Korpady, of Sun Prairie and Peter (Pam) Korpady of Leesburg, Virginia. He is also survived by four great-grandson Robert and Joshua Neill, and Daniel and Benjamin Konecny three great-granddaughters, Ashley, Kimberly, and Jeannette Korpady; a niece, Frances (Max) Carbaugh, Freeport, Illinois; and two nephews, Walter Poffenberger, Mt. Carroll, Illinois; and Carl (Fran) Nelson of Rockford, Illinois. In addition to his wife, a daughter, Betty Jeanne KIltes Korpady, a granddaughter Barbara Lynn Korpady, and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22, at 1:00 PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, with the Reverends David Busker and Anthony
Farina officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
There will be a Masonic Lodge service held at 12:40 PM. Burial will follow in the
Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon.
