Frank J. Lonkoski, age 82, formerly of Ripon, died Sunday evening, June 9, 2002, at the Markesan Resident Home in Markesan.
He was born June 26, 1919, a son to Frank and Josephine (Konetchy) in La Crosse where he graduated from high school. He received Military Honors from serving the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Ripon and the former Eagles Club. On August 13, 1964, he married Erna Thiel in Minnesota. Frank worked for the city of Ripon until he retired.
Survivors include his step-daughter-in-law, Verna Thiel of Ripon; 2 step-sons, Louis (Frances) Thiel of AZ and Paul (Betty) Thiel of Green Bay; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Lucy Lonkoski of La Crosse. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erna; 2 brothers; and step-son, Marland Thiel.
Funeral service for Frank J. Lonkoski will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2002, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
