Franklin E. Welk, age 51 of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, May 28, 1951 at his home in the Town of Rosendale, WI.
Franklin was born in Princeton, WI on September 23, 1899, the son of Fred and Lydia (Page) Welk. He graduated from Ripon High School, class of 1917, and was a farmer in the Ripon area all of his life. On October 28, 1928 he married Laura Lueck in Ripon. Franklin was President of the Major League Bowling Association in Ripon, and an active member in Choral Groups. He was also Clerk of the Town of Rosendale.
Franklin is survived by his wife, Laura Welk of Ripon, WI; a brother, Erwin Welk of Ripon, WI; a sister, Florence Harpe of Milwaukee, WI; two nieces; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lydia Welk.
Visitation for Franklin will be held from 12:00 pm on Wednesday, May 30, 1951 until 11:00 am on Thursday, May 31, 1951 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 1951 at Evangelical United Brethern Church in Ripon.
Funeral service for Franklin will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 1951 at Evangelical United Brethern Church in Ripon, with Reverend Theo Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon.
