Fred Fred C. “Fritz” Kenas, age 97, of 150 North Douglas Street, Ripon, passed away on Friday morning, October 20, 2006 at Ripon Medical Center.
Fred was born on June 10, 1909 the son of Carl and Lydia (Weiss) Kenas in Green Lake. He attended Rural Green Lake Schools. On November 28, 1935 he married Edna T. Puhl in Ripon. Fred was a farmer, worked at Silver Creek Canning Co. Fred was Town chairman for Ripon for number of years. He also was on the Board of Supervisor and Board of Directors for Fond du lac County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon.
Survivors include daughter Judy (Larry) Gregor of Lodi, WI., granddaughter, June (Dan) Seabrook and 2 great-grandchildren, Allison and John all of Longwood, FL. Sister Elda Wetzel of FL., sister-in-law Laverne Kenas of Ripon and brother-in-law Marlyn Waite of AZ. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Edna in October of 2000, brothers Robert, Verne and Elmer and sisters Evelyn, Erna and Verona.
Visitation for Fred C. Kenas will be Monday, October 23, 2006, from 10-11 am at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Services for Fred C. Kenas will be held on Monday, October 23, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Cross Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
