Frederic “Fred” Gneiser, age 91, of Ripon, formerly of Green Lake, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.
Fred was born on February 19, 1918, in the Town of Brooklyn, the son of Louis and Emogene (Fink) Gneiser. He graduated from high school and on October 5, 1940, Fred married Irene Lee. He served in the U.S. Army for almost three years in WWII as a Military Police Officer. Fred worked as a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Green Lake. He was a member of the American Legion, the Green Lake Lions Club, and the Federated Church of Green Lake.
Survivors include one son, Donald (Eunice) Gneiser of Portage, WI; two grandchildren, Jeffery (Tricia) and William (Angela); three great-grandchildren, William, Natalie, and Nathan; one sister-in-law, Gladys Lee; several nieces and nephews and many neighbors and friends. Frederic was preceded in death by his parents; wife Irene in 1998; three brothers, Bob, Gene, and Gordon; one sister, Marie.
Visitation for Frederic Gneiser will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009, from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Federated Church of Green Lake. Green Lake, WI.
Funeral Service for Frederic Gneiser will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Federated Church of Green Lake, Green Lake, WI. Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake, with military honors. Memorials given to the family will be given to Federated Church of Green Lake and the Green Lake Willis-Chapel Legion Post #306.
