Frederick Marohn

July 13, 1941 — March 15, 2015

Frederick “Bud” A. Marohn, age 73, died peacefully surrounded with the love of his entire family at home overlooking his farm in Pickett on Sunday, March 15, 2015.

He was born on July 13, 1941, to Orville and Amber (Klier) Marohn. Bud graduated from Omro High School in 1959. He voluntarily entered the Army National Guard and was very proud of his military service. On January 27, 1990, Bud married Sally Steinhilber. He was an active member of Countryside Christian Church in Pickett, becoming trustee for the church and a choir member. Bud enjoyed playing cards and also coyote hunting with his grand nephews and other family and friends in Pickett. He unofficially named a lake in North Dakota “Coyote Lake”.

Bud was a 4th generation life-long farmer. He was a former Town of Utica supervisor, a former Co-op board member and served his community and friends well. Bud generously helped anyone he knew in need. He loved his family, church, country and farm very much, always looking out for others’ interests before his own. Bud enjoyed hunting and wildlife and above all, his Christian faith. God was faithful in answering his prayers for healing from prostate cancer because he is now fully healed in Heaven with no more pain or suffering.

He will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife Sally; son Jay (Ashley) Roberts and granddaughters Peighton and Lakottah, and daughter Amber (David) Kennedy; siblings Louis (Patricia) Marohn, Lauralee (Bob, deceased) Miller, Allan Marohn, Linda (Donald) Merz and Daniel Marohn; aunts Delores Busse, Mary Lou (Tom) Jones and Yvonne Schumacher. Mother and father-in-law Genevieve and Gerald Steinhilber and brother-in-law Bob (Kari) Steinhilber. Bud is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. He was greeted in heaven by his mother and father, and brother-in-law Bob Miller.

Visitation for Bud will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015, from 2 – 8:00 pm at Countryside Christian Church, 1483 Burr Oak Road and Hwy 44, in Pickett, and again on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, from 9 – 11:00 am with the funeral service immediately following at the church.

Pastor Steve Schroepher and Pastor Dan Gibson will officiate. Interment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica, WI with Full Military Honors.
