Frederick Rueping IV, age 82, of Green Lake, passed away on April 2, 2008, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.
Frederick was born on July 10, 1925, in Fond du Lac, the son of Frederick Rueping III and Virgilia (Fox) Rueping. Fred graduated from Northwestern Military Academy High School in Lake Geneva, WI. He entered the military during WWII in the 84th Infantry Division Rail Splitters in the U.S. Army, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge, where he received The Soldiers Medal given for heroism under fire. After returning from WWII, Fred graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a BA Degree in 1950, and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. On September 9, 1950, he married Janet Baumgartner at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Fred worked as a hide broker, and was a partner of Harold Braun & Co. Fred was a past member of the Milwaukee Athletic Club and the Green Lake Yacht Club.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Rueping of Green Lake; daughter, Stephanie (Glenn) Pelletier of CO; son, Thomas (Judy Zacharski) Rueping of Richfield, WI; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar (Inez) Rueping of Fond du Lac, WI; and one nephew, John (Lee) Rueping of New York.
Visitation for Frederick Rueping IV will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral service for Frederick Rueping IV will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Fr. John A. Schmitz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial has been established.
