Frederick J.Fritz Stanaway Jr., 86, of Ripon, WI passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Ripon Medical Center.
Fred was born on December 13, 1920 the son of Frederick and Annanelle (Peters) Stanaway in Eveleth, MN. He graduated High School in Norway, MI and thereafter joined the U.S. Army where he served from 1942-1946 during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Upon his discharge, he worked as a Truck Driver for Trailer Service in Milwaukee where he hauled heavy equipment. On May 13, 1975, Fred married Virginia Brzezinski in Chicago, IL. After retiring to Ripon in 1980, he enjoyed his woodworking hobby and fishing. He was a member of the Green Lake American Legion Post # 306 for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, four daughters, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters; Adrian Brewer of Flint, MI and Shirley (DeDe) Evance of Norway, MI. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
Private Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the City of Ripon.
