Mr. G. Herman Burne, 78, of Green Lake, died Friday, February 17, 1995, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born May 12, 1916, in Rochester, New York, the son of Herman Cheever Burne and Daisy Gertrude Webb Burne. He was educated at Madison High School, in Rochester, New York, Heidelburg College in Tiffin, Ohio, and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. On December 26, 1949, he married Eleanor Magill Ensinger of Philadelphia. He lived for 27 years in Philadelphia, for 10 years in Dover, Delaware, 2 years in San Antonio, Texas and in Green Lake since 1985. Mr. Burne served his country in World War II with the 4th Armor Division of the 3rd Army. His primary occupation was an Insurance underwriter. He was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake, a member of the church choir and an alderman in Green Lake for 4 years.
Survivors include 2 daughters; Gretchen B. (Michael R.) Zook and Joanne W. Burne both of Illinois, 1 granddaughter, 2 Grandsons, 3 nieces; Miriam, Karen and Kay, and 1 nephew; Frederic. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 1 brother and 1 sister.
Funeral services for G. Herman Burne will be held at 10:30 am Monday, February 20, 1995, at the Federated Church of Green Lake with the Reverend Kent A. Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Friends may call Monday from 9:00 am until the hour of services at the church. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Hope.
