Gail Gneiser

November 25, 1937 — July 13, 2009

Gail E. (McBrair) Gneiser passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009, at Fond du Lac County Health Care Center, where she had been a resident for 12 years from complications of Huntington’s disease. She was born on November 25, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids to Charles and Esther (Dunham) McBrair. Gail graduated from Green Lake High School in 1955 and united in marriage to James Gneiser on May 5, 1957 at Peace Lutheran Church in Green Lake. While in high school and after graduation, Gail worked for Dr. A.T. Leininger as an assistant. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Wisconsin Lumber Company of Green Lake and at IMCO (the school supply store). Gail had been a member of the choir at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, as music was a great joy to her.

Survivors include her husband James; her son Mark (Ruthann) Gneiser; her daughter Penny (Fred) Gneiser-Hardekopf; grandchildren, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Micah; great-grandchild Oscar; her sister Ruby (Bob Parsons) Standke; brother, Dean (Vicki) Schwark; sister-in-law Lois (Orlo) Bierman; brother-in-law Ray Thiem; special uncle, Fred Gneiser; many nieces, nephews; and grand dogs,(Dexter, Toby, Maggie, and Violet). Gail is preceded in death by her mother Esther Schwark; step father, Eric Schwark; and two sisters, Kay Unger and June Thiem.

The family will be having a private funeral service on Wednesday, July 15, 2009. Pastor Bryan Fritsch will be officiating. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, please send contributions to HDSA Wisconsin Chapter, 2041 N. 107th St. Wauwatosa, WI 53226.

Gail will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
