Gary A. Zimmerman, Sr., age 78, of Green Lake, WI, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at home with his family by his side.
Gary was born June 7, 1938, in Green Bay, WI, the son of Harold and Edith Zimmerman. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School and went on to further his education at UWM, receiving his Bachelor degree. On December 29, 1956, Gary married Judy June in Milwaukee. He was employed with Wilson Sporting Goods, CEO of Creative Leather & Vinyl in Grafton, WI and Director of Golf at Lawsonia Golf Course.
Gary is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy of Green Lake, WI; son, Gary (Beth), Jr. of Brookfield, WI and their children, Gary (Kelly), III, and great-granddaughter, Ayla all of Hartland, WI and Nicole (Dustin) Bakalars of Oconomowoc, WI; his daughter, Mary (Ron) Peter of Wauwatosa, WI and their children, Alex Peter of Milwaukee, WI and Max Peter of Wauwatosa, WI; sister, Mary Dell (Robert) Sommers of Cookville, TN; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Geri and Dan Schwabe, Sr. and special friends, Terry and Sue Steldt of West Bend, WI. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his special cat, Gucci.
A Casual Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 1 – 4:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. A memorial is being established in his name.
