Gayle E. Virtue, age 90, of Ripon, WI, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac, WI.
Gayle was born August 3, 1923, in Normal, IL, the daughter of Lester and Mabel (Erbe) Virtue. She attended high school in both Galena, IL and Dubuque, IA. Upon graduation, Gayle went on to attend Business College for two years and was employed for twenty-five years as a Program Analyst for the Office of Naval Research, Department of the Navy, Department of Defense in Washington D.C. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church of Ripon, and of TOPS WI #1005, Princeton, WI.
Survivors include her daughter Linda (Jim) Heath, Two Harbors, MN; grandchildren, Jody Heath, Wendie Engebretson, Katie Kanieski, Cory Heath; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Robbie, Roland, Morgan, Lilly, Leo, and Tulah; nephews, Charles, Ambrose, Les Virtue. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Gayle E. Virtue will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, August 9, 2013, from 10:00-11:00 am at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 777 Harvey St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Gayle E. Virtue will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at Trinity Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Jeremy Vander Galien and Pastor Art Volkmann will officiate. Inurnment will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013, at 11:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery, Galena, IL. A memorial is being established.
